Data used
When you prepare a request, the website uses your name, telephone number, municipality, requested service, description and selected photographs locally in your browser. The language, municipality and selected service may be stored in the browser’s local storage to make the website easier to use.
Important: selected photographs are not uploaded automatically to this website. Your browser passes them to your phone’s share menu. They leave your device only after you choose an application and recipient yourself.
Postcode lookup
When you enter a four-digit Belgian postcode, the website may contact the external Zippopotam.us service to suggest the municipality name. The postcode and technical connection data, such as the IP address, may then be processed by that service.
Purposes and legal basis
The data is used to answer your request, prepare a quote, arrange a site visit and take the pre-contractual steps requested by you. Strictly necessary technical data may be processed for website security, operation and abuse prevention. Depending on the situation, processing is based on your pre-contractual request, performance of a contract, a legal obligation or the legitimate interest in operating the service securely and properly.
Recipients and external services
Gerald Sheme HVAC receives the information when you send it. When you choose WhatsApp, Google Maps or Google Reviews, you open an external service governed by its own privacy policy. Netlify may process technical logs required for hosting and security. Zippopotam.us may process the data needed for postcode lookup.
Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Some external providers, including WhatsApp, Google, Netlify or the postcode lookup service, may process data outside the European Economic Area. Such processing is governed by their own safeguards and privacy policies. Do not use these external services if you do not wish to share data with them.
Retention
Requests that do not lead to a contract may be kept for up to 24 months after the last contact. When services are provided, necessary records may be retained longer to meet contractual, accounting or legal obligations.
Required data and automated decision-making
Fields marked as required are necessary to identify and answer your request. Without this information, it may be impossible to prepare a quote or contact you. No decision producing legal effects is made solely by automated means.
Cookies and audience measurement
This version of the website loads no advertising tools and no external audience-measurement script. It only uses local browser storage to remember the language, municipality and selected service. The Google map is not loaded automatically.
Your rights
Subject to GDPR conditions, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability of your data. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it for the future. Send your request to gerald@geraldtechnic.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority.
Security
Reasonable technical measures are applied, including HTTPS and security headers. No system can provide absolute security.
